Job Description
EIEL is looking for Legal Department.
Roles & Responsibilities

Contract Management
-
Draft, review, and negotiate EPC, subcontractor, vendor, and consultancy contracts.

Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and statutory requirements.

Maintain contract repository and track obligations, milestones, and deliverables.

Claims & Disputes
-
Prepare, assess, and defend claims related to delays, cost escalation, variations, and liquidated damages.

Lead negotiations for claim settlements with clients, contractors, and vendors.
-
Support project teams in documenting claims and disputes.
-
Arbitration & Litigation
-
Handle arbitration cases including drafting pleadings (Statement of Claim/Défense).
-
Coordinate with external counsel for arbitration and litigation.

Monitor ongoing cases, ensure timely compliance with legal filings.

Legal Advisory & Compliance
-
Provide legal opinions to management and project teams on risks and liabilities.
-
Ensure compliance with Indian Contract Act, Arbitration & Conciliation Act, Companies Act, etc.
-
Stay updated on legal developments in infrastructure and construction law.
-
Support due diligence, corporate governance, and regulatory filings.
-
Strong expertise in contract drafting, arbitration, and claims management.

Familiarity with construction contracts, FIDIC, and PPP frameworks preferred.

Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
-
Ability to collaborate with project, finance, and commercial teams.
Educational Qualifications
-
LLB/LLM from a recognized institution.
-
Candidate with proven experience in WTP/STP/CETP/Waste Water Industry or Jal Jeevan Mission will be preferred.
Work Experience
Must have 10-15 years of experience.
